Colo. paramedic killed in off-duty crash

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. 鈥 The Custer County Emergency Medical Services and Custer County Sheriff鈥檚 Office announced the death of a paramedic in a two-vehicle crash Saturday.

Andrew Fernandez, a Custer County EMS paramedic, died in a crash, according to a social media post.

鈥淎ndrew was a top-notch paramedic and an even better human being,鈥 according to the post by Custer County EMS. 鈥淎ndrew was a clever, intelligent, and warm person.鈥

Fernandez, 39, was a paramedic for 10-plus years, Custer County EMS said. He is survived by a wife and 2-year-old daughter.
