BOULDER COUNTY, Colo. 鈥 A fallen climber was rescued after someone heard 鈥渨hat sounded to be a person in pain鈥 in a popular Colorado canyon, officials said.
The person from near the climbing area of the Red Garden Wall and Yellow Spur around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 30 in Eldorado Canyon State Park, the Boulder County Sheriff鈥檚 Office said in a news release.
They found the hurt climber and called 911, officials said.
Rescuers carried the fallen climber down a scree field in the area and then hoisted him over the South Boulder Creek to an ambulance using a rope system, officials said. He was taken to a hospital 鈥渨ith non-life-threatening injuries.鈥
A photo shows the rope system over the creek. The rescue took about three hours, officials said.
Eldorado Canyon State Park is about a 30-mile drive northwest from Denver.
